LG Cookie – A Beautiful Mobile Phone
The LG Cookie, or formally known as the KP500 model, is an affordable choice for a touch screen mobile phone. Priced at 170 Euros or less, the Cookie provides lots of slick features typical for a touch screen phone.
Chic Physical Attributes:
LG Cookie is a sexy mobile phone. It is a very slim handset with thickness size at 11.9 mm. At first glance, you can mistake it for a Renoir. It has a pitched black back and front panel lined with shiny red. Other colours are available for those who want to personalize their mobile devices.
LG Cookie has no keyboard or type pad to speak of. You can use an on screen QWERTY keypad to navigate through the screen environment of the Cookie. For accuracy and for navigating through small screen buttons, a stylus pointing device is handily available.
It has a 3 inch touch screen display making the screen real estate quite wide for enjoying picture viewing, games, and for easily recognizing text display. The icons are also large for easy recognition which could help you navigate through the different phone menus.
Useful Features:
The LG Cookie has a fixed focus 3 megapixel camera ideal for taking close shots. You can also listen to music through its onboard FM radio band. The touch screen also has an auto rotation feature which can significantly enhance the user interface.
Connectivity can be achieved through quad band GSM, GPRS and EDGE. Unfortunately it cannot support 3G connectivity.
It has a document viewer for PDF and MS Office applications. It supports Java platform for its game features. In fact, you can enjoy the built in Java based games of the LG Cookie. You can also benefit from the built in accelerometer of LG Cookie to enhance your gaming experience.
The Cookie has a built in 48 MB of memory for storing mobile phone information and images. If you want more memory capacity, you can simply add an external Micro SD card. It can support up to 8 GB of external memory.
The estimated talk time for LG Cookie is 3 to 4 hours while standby time can last up to 350 hours. These could be much shorter depending on phone usage.
Video Capability:
The basic features and useful functions of the LG Cookie are fairly excellent. However, the Cookie crumbles on video capability. This is probably the weakest aspect of this mobile phone.
You will be able to record videos but only with 12 frames per second. The QVGA resolution is also a bit quirky so you will not really enjoy its video feature. It can playback video using MPEG4 only as DivX or XVid are non-existent on the phone. Video playback can only muster a measly 24 frames per second with screen size of 240 x 400.
For its price and sexy look, the LG Cookie is a good buy. You will be able to get most of the typical features of a handy touch screen mobile phone. However, this device lacks some of the most advance technology used by other mobile gadgets and its video capability is truly lacking in sophistication.
